臣諱啟。伏見　勅旨。使監作舍人王曇明材官將軍沈徽御仗吳景等監看善覺寺起剎事。爰奉聖恩曲降神力。命斯執事修茲長表。寶塔雲搆無待喜園。水精特建非差龍海。大龜持泥未足為盛。鶖鷺引繩方斯取劣。仰瞻慈渥喜戴不勝。俯循宿願私增涕噎。不任銘荷。謹奉啟謝聞。謹啟。

Your subject [Xiao Gang], speaking his tabooed name, submits this memorial: I humbly observe the imperial decree commanding the Director-Attendant Wang Tanming, the General of Materiel Shen Hui, and the Imperial Guard Wu Jing to oversee the erection of the stūpa pillar at Shanjue Monastery. Hereupon, receiving the sage's grace, spiritual power is graciously sent down, commanding these officials to construct this lofty spire. A jeweled stūpa rises into the clouds without needing the Joyous Garden; the crystal edifice is singularly erected, rivaling the Dragon's Ocean. Great turtles bearing mud would not suffice as an extraordinary sight; Śāriputra drawing the cords appears inferior in comparison. Looking up at the compassionate moisture, I am overcome with joy and veneration; looking down upon my past vows, my tears and choking sighs secretly increase. Unable to bear my deep gratitude, I respectfully present this memorial to express my thanks. Respectfully submitted.
