17.38

桂州於緣化寺起塔。舍利未至城十餘里。有鳥千數夾輿行飛。入城乃散。舍利將入塔。五色雲來覆之。

In Gui prefecture, a pagoda was erected at Yuanhua Temple. When the relics were still more than ten li from the city, thousands of birds flew flanking the palanquin, dispersing only after entering the city. As the relics were about to enter the pagoda, five-colored clouds came and covered them.
