得書并所製講頌。首尾可觀。殊成佳作。辭典文艶。既溫且雅。豈直斐然有意。可謂卓爾不群。覽以迴環。良同愈疾。至於雙因八辯彌有法席之致。銀草金雲殊得物色之美。吾在原之意甚用欣懌。遲面乃悉此不盡言。統答。

I received your letter along with the composed poem of praise. From beginning to end it is admirable, truly forming an excellent work. The diction is elegant and the style splendid, both warm and refined; not only is it vibrant with intent, but it may be called remarkably outstanding. Reading it again and again, it is truly like recovering from an illness. As for the twin causes and eightfold eloquence, they capture the consummate spirit of the Dharma assembly all the more; the silver grass and golden clouds wonderfully capture the beauty of the scenery. My fraternal affection is exceedingly delighted. I look forward to seeing you in person to express everything, as these words cannot convey it all. A brief reply.
