制問法超法師。從來作此解律。諸律師並皆噉肉為不噉肉。法超奉答。不知餘人並若為。法超從來自不食肉。
The imperial inquiry asked Dharma Master Fachao: 'Having always interpreted the vinaya in this way, do the Vinaya masters all eat meat or not eat meat?' Fachao respectfully replied: 'I do not know how others fare; Fachao himself has never eaten meat.'
