26.67

制問寶度法師。復云何。奉答。本住定林末移光宅。二處不得進肉。若在餘處為疾病亦不免開。問講律時噉肉不奉答。講時必有徒眾。於徒眾中不敢。

The imperial inquiry asked Dharma Master Baodu: 'What about you?' He respectfully replied: 'Originally I resided at Dinglin, and later moved to Guangzhai; at neither place could meat be consumed. If at another place, due to illness, I could not avoid an exception.' It was asked: 'When lecturing on the vinaya, did you eat meat or not?' He respectfully replied: 'When lecturing, there would certainly be disciples; among the disciples, I did not dare.'
