If one expounds loving-kindness with firm and resolute intention, one attains the Buddha's mark of four pure white canine teeth. If one abstains from the four faults of speech, one attains the Buddha's mark of square cheeks and a broad and long tongue. If one practices giving impartially, one attains, at the time of the Buddha-fruition, the mark of the seven rounded protuberances. If one endures asceticism with resolute freedom from distraction, one attains the Buddha's mark of a lion-like chest. If one practices correct and pure medicine to save people, one attains the Buddha's mark of a body square and upright. If one practices benevolence and does not strike sentient beings with sticks, one attains the Buddha's mark of long arms and slender fingers. If one watches the ground as one walks without trampling on insects, one attains the Buddha's mark of walking without treading upon the ground. If one supports and receives suffering sentient beings with one's hands, one attains the Buddha's mark of palms soft within and without. If one practices the four means of embracing to embrace sentient beings, one attains the Buddha's mark of webbed hands and feet. If one makes offerings to good persons with a pure mind, one attains the Buddha's mark of the thousand-spoked wheel patterns on the palms and soles.
