Below Mount Kunlun, jade is cast at birds; / North of the Han River, a jade disc is worth a thousand pieces of gold. / With pure karma and spiritual dwelling, virtue is not yet weighty; / Cleansing oneself among the foolish worldly, the Way is already deep. / Love and hate, joy and anger are practiced from birth; / Beautiful appearances and fragrant tastes are admired by the world. / With great talent and immense strength able to match ten thousand men, / Who is willing to subdue this square inch of the mind? / A wild steed and a mad rhinoceros run uncontrolled in the wild; / Heavy bridles and tight cages might yet restrain them. / Dispelling emotions and abandoning affairs, what more is there to think on? / Tranquil and without reliance, one freely pursues the profound.
