心所期兮彼之岸。何事浮俗久淹逭照慧日兮駕法雲。騰危城兮出塵館。芳珠燁兮聞歲時。寶樹颻兮警昏旦。清露摶甘永以挹。喜園流采常為玩。無待殷鼎方丈羞。安用秦箏纖指彈。勤誠欵願長不渝。習苦塵勞從此捍。

That which the mind hopes for—ah!—is the other shore; / why tarry long in floating worldly ways? / Bathed in the sun of wisdom—ah!—harness the cloud of Dharma; / soar above the perilous city—ah!—and depart the dusty lodge. / Fragrant pearls gleam—ah!—perceived through seasons and years; / jeweled trees sway in the breeze—ah!—marking dawn and dusk. / Pure dew gathered sweet—ah!—ever drawn to drink; / radiant colors streaming in the garden of joy—ah!—ever enjoyed. / No need to await a ten-foot table of delicacies from Yin tripods; / what use is a Qin zither plucked by slender fingers? / Diligent and sincere, this earnest vow will never alter; / enduring bitter worldly defilements shall be warded off from now on.
