紫實昧朱。狂斯濫哲。舛逕揚鑣。分源競枻。麗景或幽。澄舒每缺。水激波生。煙深火滅。情端徒總。理向空蔽。不有明心。誰驅聖轍。

Purple indeed dims the vermilion; / The madman thus counterfeits the wise. / Branching paths lift high their bits; / Divided springs race with their oars. / The lovely sun is at times obscured; / The clear moon is frequently eclipsed. / When waters clash, waves arise; / When smoke is thick, fire is extinguished. / The start of passions is vainly gathered; / Principles are hollowly veiled from within. / If there were not a luminous mind, / Who could steer the sagely carriage?
