生浮命舛。識網情違。業雲結影。慧日潛暉。逶迤修道。極夜無歸。登山小魯。泛海難沂。參珉見璧。辯礫知璣。迷其未達。匪正何依。

Life is fleeting and fate goes awry; / The net of consciousness thwarts our aims. / Clouds of karma cast their shadows; / The sun of wisdom conceals its light. / Winding is the long path; / In the deep night, there is no return. / Ascending the mountain, Lu looks small; / Floating upon the sea, it is hard to cross. / Comparing jade-like stones, one sees the true disc; / Distinguishing gravel, one recognizes the pearl. / For those deluded and not yet attained, / If not upon the orthodox, on what shall they rely?
