瞻彼進德。莫敢或遑。顧咨小智。徒以太康。豈無通術。跋此榛荒。雖有重離。亦照螢光。循情內負。撫事外傷。層羅一舉。空念高翔。

Looking up at those advancing in virtue, none dare to be at ease; / Turning to consult small knowledge, they merely enjoy great tranquility. / How could there be no penetrating methods to tread this wild overgrowth? / Though there is the double brightness [of sun and moon], it also shines with the firefly's light. / Following passion, one is indebted within; handling affairs, one is wounded without. / Once the layered net is lifted, in vain does one think of soaring high.
