Yun knocks his head, knocks his head. In the crisp freshness of high autumn, how is your health? I hope you are surpassing and at ease. Learning that you have gone east to pay homage, my deep admiration and respect are aroused. In the past, when princes of feudal domains wandered, such deeds were not lacking: some held water sports on dragon boats, or saw off travelers beside the river, clanging bells and flying banners, floating along the gentle current; yet these were still valued in good books and regarded as flourishing virtue. Never has there been one who selected an auspicious day and hour, devoted his sincerity and focused his thoughts, seeking a journey to the Dharma City and halting at the assembly in the Jetavana grove. With an earnest heart I praise you, beyond any comparison. My wind-sickness has worsened, and I am crippled and confined to my humble door; unable to take your hand at departure, my distress and dejection are all the deeper. May you take good care. This letter is written in haste without proper order. Wang Yun knocks his head, knocks his head.
