3.26

有梁普通四年。歲惟單閼仲春十有七日。於建康禁中里宅。始述此書。通人平原劉杳。從余遊。因說其事。杳有志。積久未獲操筆。聞余已先著鞭。欣然會意。凡所抄集。盡以相與廣其聞見。實有力焉。斯亦康成之於傳釋。盡歸子順之書也。

In the fourth year of the Putong era of the Liang dynasty, in the year Shan'e (gui-mao), on the seventeenth day of the second month of spring, I began drafting this book at my residence in Jinzhong Lane in Jiankang. Liu Yao of Pingyuan, a man of broad learning, was associating with me; thereupon I spoke of this matter. Yao had long had this ambition, but had not yet been able to take up the brush. Hearing that I had already wielded the whip ahead of him, he was delighted and understood my purpose. All that he had copied and collected, he gave entirely to me to broaden my knowledge and view; he was truly of great assistance. This was just like how, regarding Zheng Kangcheng's commentaries and explanations, all of Zishun's books were entrusted to him.
