Imperial virtue permeates the realm; / Hanging garments signify the Great Peace. / Huang and Tang would be shamed by his flourishing fruits; / Zi and Si would feel humbled before his fine renown. / Order settled, the five rites are arranged; / Merit accomplished, the six dances are performed. / Guiding and elevating retain the imperial regard; / Providing a ferry stirs his sagacious heart. / For all kings there is only the one Dharma; / The unarisen is truly unborn. / Cause within cause is seen from this; / Effect after effect becomes clear from here. / The Primordial Goodness looks up to the Crown Prince; / Embracing unity, he shakes with great renown. / His Gui Cang exceeds divination; / In the Spring and Autumn annals, he leads the Ministers of Spring. / The solar palace is filled with auspicious ether; / In the lunar hall, the wholesome wind is pure. / Flowered coins open onto the western view; / Reddish curtains are rolled up at the southern eaves. / At the Golden Gate, dawn drums are practiced; / In the jade clepsydra, the night watches cease. / Palace scholar-trees retain the dawn gathering; / City crows herald the rising dawn. / Dewy radiance stirs upon the branches; / Cloud reflections float lightly upon the water. / What need have I for shallow worth today? / In vain do I know attachment to the fortress of Dharma.
