龔勝無遺生。季業有窮盡。嵇叟理既迫。霍子命亦殞。凄凄後霜柏。納納衝風菌。邂逅竟既時。脩短非所慜。恨我君子志。不得巖上泯。送心正覺前。斯痛久已忍。唯願乘來生。怨親同心朕。

Gong Sheng left no remnant of his life behind;
Ji Ye too came to his ultimate end.
Old Master Ji was pressed by circumstance;
Young Huo likewise perished before his time.
Bleak and desolate are cypresses after frost;
Frail and tender is the mushroom braving the wind.
Our meeting has run its full course;
Long life or brief is not what grieves me.
I regret only that my noble ambitions
Could not find peace atop the rocky cliffs.
I send my mind before the Truly Enlightened One;
This pain has long been borne in patience.
I pray only that, riding upon future births,
Foes and kin alike will share one common heart.
