五言壬寅年十月十八日。入攝山栖霞寺。登崖極峭頗暢懷抱。至德元年癸卯十月二十六日。又再遊此寺。布法師施菩薩戒。甲辰年十月二十五日。奉送金像。還山限以時務。不得恣情淹留。乙巳年十一月十六日。更獲禮拜。仍停山中宿。永夜留連棲神竦聽。但交臂不停。薪指俄謝。率製此篇以記即目。俾後來賞者。知余此志焉。

In five-character verse. On the eighteenth day of the tenth month in the renyin year, I entered Qixia Temple on She Mountain. Climbing the extremely sheer cliffs greatly relieved my pent-up feelings. On the twenty-sixth day of the tenth month in the first year of Zhide, guimao, I visited this temple again; Dharma Master Bu conferred the bodhisattva precepts. On the twenty-fifth day of the tenth month in the jiachen year, I respectfully escorted a golden icon back to the mountain; constrained by current affairs, I could not linger as my heart wished. On the sixteenth day of the eleventh month in the yisi year, I was once again able to pay homage, and remained overnight in the mountain. Linger through the long night, lodging my spirit, I listened with solemn reverence. Yet our shoulders brush and do not linger, and the fingers feeding the firewood soon pass away. I straightaway composed this piece to record what met my eyes, so that later admirers might know this aspiration of mine.
