The four types of knowledge have no deceitful intent;
The three types of giving open the hidden mind.
Through broad understanding, I avoid worldly affairs;
Taking rest, I return to mountain forests.
At the winding crag, the sound of horsemen ceases;
Amid intersecting branches, carriage-canopy shade falls.
Frozen snow gathers on ponds and terraces;
Returning birds chatter at balustrades and windows.
The veins of stone know no new or old;
How could peak shapes belong to past or present?
How distant the Great Cart!
The galloping horses rush swift and fast.
How to cultivate the six recollections?
Devout sincerity rests in the single voice.
Not yet drifting far on the vessel of compassion,
One only makes the ocean of vows deep in vain.
