The prime minister has the heart of Pan Stream,
Unconnected to dallying in the Bamboo Grove.
At Vulture Peak, green pines greet the dawn;
On Cock's Foot Peak, the white sun descends.
The heavens are vast, floating clouds are fine;
The mountain is empty, the bright moon deep.
Broken shadows of withered trees fall;
Scattered shade of ancient vines lingers.
From the frosted village, night crows depart;
Along the windy path, cold gibbons wail.
Naturally one may seek to transcend the vulgar;
How could it be merely an urge to lay down one's hairpin?
