先去非長別。後來非久親。新墳將舊塜。相次似魚鱗。茂陵誰辯漢。驪山詎識秦。千年與昨日。一種併成塵。定知今世土。還是昔時人。焉能取他骨。復持埋我身。

Those who departed first are not eternally separated; / Those who come after will not be close for long. / New graves and old mounds / Follow one after another like fish scales. / At Maoling, who can distinguish the Han? / At Mount Li, how can one recognise the Qin? / A thousand years ago or yesterday, / All alike turn together into dust. / Truly know that the earth of the present age / Is simply the people of bygone times. / How can one take another's bones / To bury one's own body in turn?
