Numinous land resting in the five pure abodes; / Mountain seclusion quieted by the four dhyānas. / The moon palace overlooks the mirror stone; / Praises of flowers encircle the peak lotus. / The glow of rosy clouds mingles with banner shadows; / The vapour of clouds blends with censer smoke. / Distant pines spread high like canopies; / Cascading waterfalls trickle in divided springs. / Catching the wind, ten thousand pipes resound; / Moistened with dew, a hundred flowers are fresh. / In days past, I sought the true taste; / Making friends, we lingered time and again. / Walking slowly across the mountain courtyard, / Cleansing in the murmuring stream upon the islet. / Through these, the practice of perfuming occurred, / And one could bring an end to grasping conditions. / Who could have thought that clouds and rain would scatter us, / Leaving me to cherish this with lingering sorrow? / In vain do I look toward the south as I climb; / I must follow the eastward flow and return.
