問。先生高談壽夭繕績前生業果雖詳芝丹仍略。且道家之極。極在長生。呼吸太一吐故納新。子欲劣之其可得乎。

The questioner asks: You, Sir, have spoken loftily of longevity, early death, and repairing and weaving from former lives. Although karmic fruitions are detailed, the [immortal] mushrooms and elixirs are still treated cursorily. Furthermore, the ultimate of the Daoist school reaches its culmination in longevity: inhaling the Great Unity, exhaling the old and absorbing the new. If you wish to deem it inferior, how could that be possible?
