又太一大神成者多少調陰陽者復須幾人。若言服者。皆得何其多耶。又丹與水銀遍地皆有。火燒成丹。作之不難。何為道士不服白日昇天。為天仙之主而辛苦叩齒。虛過一生良可哀哉。若不服者。明知為丹所誤。故捕影之談耳。

Furthermore, how many are those who have become great spirits of Taiyi, and how many people are needed to harmonize yin and yang? If it is said that all who consume it attain it, why are there so few? Moreover, cinnabar and mercury exist everywhere across the earth; firing them to make the elixir is not difficult to do. Why do Daoist priests not consume them to ascend to heaven in broad daylight and become lords of celestial immortals, instead of laboriously gnashing their teeth and passing their whole lives in vain? This is truly pitiable! If they do not consume it, they clearly know they would be misled by the elixir; thus it is merely talk of catching shadows.
