臣笑曰。自然經云。道士巾褐帔法褐。長三丈六尺。三百六十寸。法年三十六旬。年有三百六十日。一身兩角。角各有六條。兩袖袖各六條。合二十四條。法二十四氣。二帶法陰陽。中兩角法兩儀。乃至冠法蓮華巾也。自然經既有科律。何以不依。乃法張魯黃巾之服。違律而無識也。

Your servant laughs, saying: The Ziran jing says: 'The Daoist headdress, coarse garment, cape, and Dharma garment are three zhang and six chi long—three hundred and sixty inches—modeling the thirty-six decans of the year, for the year has three hundred and sixty days. On the body are two corners, each corner having six bands; the two sleeves each have six bands, making twenty-four bands in all, modeling the twenty-four solar terms. The two ribbons model yin and yang; the two inner corners model the two modes; down to the cap modeling the lotus-flower headdress.' Since the Ziran jing already has rules and regulations, why do you not follow them, but instead model yourselves after the yellow turban dress of Zhang Lu, violating the regulations out of ignorance?
