Your servant laughs and says: The Wufu jing says that the three immortal kings told the Yellow Emperor, "The reason humans enjoy longevity is that they do not eat the five grains." The Dayou jing says: "The five grains are the chisel that cuts life short; the foul five grains make one's lifespan shorten and shrink. When this food enters the belly, have no hope for long life. If you wish not to die, let there be no feces in your intestines." The Wufu jing says: "Solomon's seal is the qi of the three yangs, reaching up to the Palace of Great Purity. Eating it is sweet and delicious, and grants long life." One cannot understand why Laozi did not taste this, but instead tasted the five grains that rot human intestines! Moreover, the Three Sovereigns were all spiritual beings; why did they not cause their descendants to rule over the realm of longevity, but instead begged with five pecks of grain for their descendants to rule over the Divine Continent, seeking short lives of cut life and rotten intestines? This is also laughable.
