度人妙經稱。三界魔王各有歌辭。誦之百遍名度南宮。千遍魔王保迎。萬遍飛昇大空。過三界登仙公。又玄中精經。道士受誡符錄。置五嶽位設酒脯再拜。

The Wondrous Scripture for the Salvation of Mortals claims that the demon kings of the three realms each have songs and verses; chanting them one hundred times is called deliverance to the Southern Palace; chanting them a thousand times, the demon kings vouch for and welcome one; chanting them ten thousand times, one soars into the Great Void, transcends the three realms, and ascends as an immortal lord. Furthermore, the Scripture of the Essence of the Mysterious Central says that when a Daoist priest receives the precepts, tallies, and registers, he establishes the positions of the Five Sacred Peaks, sets out wine and dried meat, and bows twice.
