The Prince speaks: I have reverently learned that you recently went to Kaishan to listen to the lectures on the Nirvāṇa[-sūtra], giving yourself over to enjoying the mountains and roaming your mind beyond the human realm. The green pines and white mists are delightful everywhere; the strange peaks and grotesque stones fill the gaze so that one forgets to return. Moreover, the Dharma water flows in the morning and heavenly flowers fall by night. Going there and forgetting to return, this accords with the words of old. Bound by worldly affairs, the Prince has no way to travel there alone. Looking up to your lofty footsteps, my heart is knotted with longing. Respectfully spoken.
