The Ugra-paripṛcchā-sūtra says: 'A householder practicing the Path should observe women and generate the thought of revulsion; the thought of impermanence; the thought of impurity; the thought of foulness and evil; the thought of rākṣasa evil demons constantly devouring people; the thought of insatiable craving for beauty without limit; the thought of bad companions obstructing pure practice; and the thought of the three evil paths unceasingly increasing sorrow and suffering. The eyes, face, lips, and mouth are instruments for bewitching people; bewitched by them, people ruin their families, destroy their states, kill their kin, and harm their children. The root of all calamities is entirely due to female beauty.'
