4.33

維唐龍朔元年。京師西華觀道士朝散大夫郭行真所造。夫以陰陽結搆。凡俗之所依持。空有驅除。惟聖於焉體鏡。排三有而超挺。聞乎五藏之經。在一得而守雌。見於二篇之作。是則尊天敬地。無忽於有為。解縛離惱寔開於惑性。由斯比德事等雲泥。敢用傾誠敬崇流施。寫經造像無替暄涼。用此福因津通有識。咸超見網早越迷林。敬造金銅佛像五軀。

In the first year of the Longshuo era of the Great Tang, made by Guo Xingzhen, Daoist priest of Xihua Abbey in the capital and Court Gentleman for Miscellaneous Duties: As yin and yang interlock, they form what the worldly rely upon; as emptiness and existence are cast away, only the Sage embodies and mirrors this. Expelling the three realms of existence and transcending them is heard in the scriptures of the Five Treasuries; abiding in attaining the One and keeping to the feminine is seen in the work of two chapters. Thus, honoring Heaven and respecting Earth does not overlook the conditioned; untying bonds and departing afflictions truly opens the deluded nature. Comparing their virtues in this light, the matters are as far apart as clouds and mud. I dare to pour out my sincerity, reverently esteeming and broadly distributing; copying scriptures and making statues, without neglecting cold or heat. Through these blessed causes, may sentient beings find transit, all transcending the net of views and quickly passing beyond the forest of delusion. Reverently made: five gilt-bronze Buddha images.
