明帝永平十四年正月一日。五嶽諸山觀道士朝正之次。先承京師向西域天竺國。取得佛本。言是脩多羅教。復請胡師迦葉摩騰竺法蘭二人等翻譯佛本。一從漢言。又立白馬興聖二寺。

On the first day of the first month of the fourteenth year of Yongping of Emperor Ming, during the court assembly for the New Year of the Daoist masters from the temples of the various mountains of the Five Sacred Peaks, they had previously heard that the capital had obtained the Buddha's original [texts] from Tianzhu in the Western Regions, saying it was the teaching of the sūtras, and had further invited the barbarian masters Kāśyapa Mātaṅga and Dharmaratna to translate the Buddha's original [texts], following the Han language throughout; and that they had also established the two temples of Baima and Xingsheng.
