1.23

帝曰。摩騰法師曾與朕說法云。涅槃義乃有多種。言入聖位中者。涅槃有五種。一者隨分涅槃。二者有餘涅槃。三者覺滅涅槃。四者方便涅槃。五者究竟涅槃。

The Emperor said, 'Dharma Master [Kāśyapa] Mātaṅga once preached the Dharma to me, saying: The meaning of nirvāṇa has many kinds. Speaking of those who enter noble ranks, nirvāṇa has five kinds: first, nirvāṇa according to portion; second, nirvāṇa with remainder; third, nirvāṇa of awakening to cessation; fourth, expedient nirvāṇa; fifth, ultimate nirvāṇa.'
