褚信對曰。臣以太上天尊所說經典。設壇。置經壇上。以火焚之。其法若真。願火不燒。其法若虛妄。願從火化。西域之教願與臣同於此試。

Zhu [Shan]xin replied, 'Your servant will set up an altar with the scriptures spoken by the Taishang Celestial Worthy, place the scriptures upon the altar, and burn them with fire. If their teaching is true, may the fire not burn them; if their teaching is false, may they be consumed by fire. We pray that the teaching of the Western Regions be tested together with your servant in this manner.'
