案帝王世記云。周昭王即位五十一年崩。周穆王即位五十五年崩。周恭王即位十二年崩。懿王二十五年崩。從昭王二十四年計至孝王五年。合一百二十四年。從佛初生計入涅槃。合七十九年。今言孝王五年者。何太謬乎。未知統師出何書典。

According to the Diwang shiji: King Zhao of Zhou died after reigning for fifty-one years; King Mu of Zhou died after reigning for fifty-five years; King Gong of Zhou died after reigning for twelve years; and King Yi died after twenty-five years. Counting from the twenty-fourth year of King Zhao to the fifth year of King Xiao, it is altogether one hundred and twenty-four years. Counting from the Buddha's first birth to his entrance into nirvāṇa, it is altogether seventy-nine years. Now to say the fifth year of King Xiao, how exceedingly erroneous! It is not known from what text the Lineage Master drew this.
