帝曰。弟子謹案經云。佛在因中作國王時。殺五百婆羅門不犯戒律。今姜斌開天之說。此即妖書惑亂朝廷。今不斬決誤後不少　法師極諫。姜斌免死。配徙馬邑。

The Emperor said, "I respectfully consider what the scriptures state: when the Buddha was a king on the causal stage, he killed five hundred brahmins without violating the precepts. Now Jiang Bin's discourse on the Kaitian [jing] is an illicit book that bewilders and disrupts the imperial court. If he is not beheaded now, it will mislead the future no small amount." The Dharma Master remonstrated earnestly, and Jiang Bin was spared from death, being banished instead to Mayi.
