六瓜州城東古基者。乃周朝阿育王寺也。廢教已後。隋雖興法更不置寺。今為寺莊塔有舍覆。東西廊廡周迴牆匝。時現光相士俗敬重。每道俗宿齋集會興福。官私上下乞願有應云云。

Six: The ancient foundation east of Guazhou city was a King Aśoka temple of the Northern Zhou dynasty. After the Dharma was proscribed, although the Sui dynasty revived the Dharma, it did not re-establish the temple. It is now a temple estate; the stūpa is sheltered by a hall, and corridors on the east and west are enclosed on all four sides by walls. At times it displays luminous signs, and it is deeply revered by scholars and commoners. Whenever monastics and laity gather for overnight fasts to cultivate blessings, their prayers—from officials and commoners, high and low—meet with sympathetic responses, and so on.
