3.39

釋道積。貞觀初住益州福成寺。誦通涅槃。淨衣澡沐自為恒度。慈愛兼濟固其深心。終于五月。炎氣赫然而屍不腐臭。百有餘日加坐如初。道俗莫不嘉賞也。

The monk Daoji resided at Fucheng Temple in Yizhou in the early Zhenguan reign era. He was fluent in reciting the Nirvāṇa Sūtra, and made wearing clean robes and bathing his constant rule. Loving-kindness and universal deliverance were firm in his deep heart. When he died in the fifth month, though the heat was blazing, his corpse did not rot or stink; for over a hundred days, he remained sitting cross-legged as before. Monastics and laypeople alike praised him.
