In the first year of the Yonghui reign era, the retired scholar Zhang Taixuan of Kuaiji was chanting and paying homage at the temple. The śramaṇa Zhiyue shared a bed with Taixuan, sleeping side by side. In the middle of the night, they heard the recitation of the Diamond Prajñā[-pāramitā], clear and distinct. The two listened quietly, body and mind peaceful and joyful, until the recitation ended. Although it matched in every respect as if real, when they looked around, there was no form to be seen. Thus it was clearly known to be divinely bestowed.
