I asked again: "In Mount Zhongnan County of Weizhou, there are Buddha Face Mountain and Seven Buddhas Ravine; their background is the same as before. The Great Treasury in the Ku Ravine of the Southern Mountains is a treasury made by the very hands of Kāśyapa Buddha. Currently, there are thirteen pratyekabuddhas residing in the ravine." He also said: "The stupas and temples in various places today are mostly the surviving foundations of ancient Buddhas, marked out by King Aśoka; therefore, the fields of merit remain permanently and must not be treated lightly. Nowadays, there are famous stupas as are commonly heard of, but there are also nameless stupas everywhere. Under the temple stupa within the city walls of Ganzhou in Hexi there are śarīras, under the Buddha hall of Lingyan Temple in Hezhou there are śarīras, and under the Buddha hall of Maijiyan in Qinzhou there are śarīras. The mountain deity abandoned them. This temple was built by King Mu of Zhou, named Ling'an; for the past forty years, people have frequently appeared from it. The stupa of Changning Temple in Jingzhou was built by King Aśoka; underneath it are śarīras, over ten feet into the ground, in a five-tiered stone reliquary containing the broken bones of his body."
