弟子天人。自有姓字。語同天竺。師既不詢。還述本音。不久復有天來云。姓苟氏。云弟子本相人也。往以夏殷多難。將居家入白鹿山。山素有辟支佛住云云。

"As a deva disciple, I naturally have my own family name and given name. My language is the same as that of India. Since you, Master, do not inquire, I speak in my native tongue." Before long, another deva arrived, saying his surname was Gou, and said: "Your disciple was originally a man of Xiang. In the past, during the many tribulations of the Xia and Yin dynasties, I took my family into Mount Bailu. The mountain had always been inhabited by pratyekabuddhas," and so forth.
