3.20

列子云。周穆王時。西極有化人。來反山川移城邑。千變萬化不可窮極。穆王敬之若神。重之若聖。此則佛化之初及也。

The Liezi states: "In the time of King Mu of Zhou, a transformed person came from the extreme west. He could invert mountains and rivers, move cities and towns, and his thousands of changes and ten thousand transformations were inexhaustible. King Mu revered him as a spirit and esteemed him as a sage." This was the initial arrival of the Buddha's transforming influence.
