4.18

一竊見王者尊敬神祇。神祇之類尊佛弟子。是以明其遠敬。尊其所尊抑從拜禮。愚謂未可。

First: We humbly observe that kings revere and respect the gods and spirits, and the kinds of gods and spirits revere the disciples of the Buddha. Therefore, making clear their distant reverence, they revere what is revered; if they were coerced to follow the bowing ritual, we foolishly deem it inadmissible.
