瀨井微言。二篇極於為谷。崛園幽旨。萬物存乎不輕（事如右司禦議中彈）況乃君親兼極跪拜猶簡。豈非絕棄於內敬而矯修於外迹乎（彈曰。行道以答四恩。豈矯修於外迹育德以資三有豈絕棄於內敬乎幸子思之無多言也）如見所量。望令加禮。謹議。

The subtle words of the Well of Lai: the two chapters culminate in 'becoming a valley'; the profound intent of Jetavana: myriad beings abide in 'Never Disparaging' (this matter is refuted as in the petition of the Right Palace Guard). How much more so when ruler and parents are the twin pinnacles, yet kneeling and bowing are neglected! Is this not entirely abandoning inner reverence while hypocritically cultivating external appearances? (Refutation: Practicing the Way to requite the four debts of gratitude—how could that be hypocritically cultivating external appearances? Nurturing virtue to aid the three realms of existence—how could that be entirely abandoning inner reverence? May you ponder this carefully and not babble!)
