We humbly consider: The mysterious and profound teachings of Laozi illuminate the gateway of all subtleties; the teachings of Śākya, tranquil and still, represent the unworldly realm beyond the dust. Since the golden countenance crossed to the east and the true vapor journeyed to the west, people have imbibed the Way, admired their breeze, and filled the lands and regions. Our Sagely Dynasty has taken charge of the cosmic order, and this Way has become all the more exalted. Benevolent shrines and Dharma halls grandly fill the capital; jeweled banners and golden pillars colorfully illuminate the thoroughfares. All these reliances and devotions are hoped to provide aid and benefit while preserving their teachings. We privately deem this acceptable. Respectfully deliberated.
