By the time of Emperor Zhang, King Ying of Chu was fond of Buddhist fasts and precepts, and offered thirty bolts of yellow thin silk and white fine silk to redeem his fault. An imperial decree replied to King Ying: 'You uphold the benevolent sacrifices of the Futu and have observed pure fasting for three months, entering into oaths with the spirits: trustworthy indeed.'
