Xu Chi, Senior Clerk of Pacifying the Barbarians under the Liang (of refined and tranquil grace, his pure eloquence reached the divine); Yan Zhitui of the Secretariat under the Liang (respectful, frugal, and of steadfast faith); Wang Xun, Viscount Wen, Palace Attendant and Household Sponsor under the Liang (his spirit was bright and radiant, his bearing relaxed and handsome; loyal abroad and filial at home, courageous in righteousness and valuing integrity; he mastered the ancient texts and encompassed the various philosophical trends); Wang Gui, Marquis of Zhang and Sanqi Regular Attendant under the Liang (an ornament to the imperial court, like timber for imperial ancestral shrines; lofty among younger scholars, with flying hat-strings at Shiqu Pavilion, gracefully arriving with dignified demeanor, lifting his robes at the Golden Horse Gate).
