Emperor Wucheng, Shizu of Qi (personal name Zhan), broadly delivered living beings and responded by travelling to the Buddha realms. In the Fanglin Garden, hymns on the flower parasol were once again composed; beside the city of Luoyi, eulogies under imperial edicts were once more unrolled. Tiered terraces and separate belvederes were all converted into saṅghārāmas; round jades and precious pearls were all supplied as offerings. He bowed his head in veneration in person, and engaged in walking meditation on every occasion. In the first year of Daning, he began the construction of a jewelled stupa; taking off his precious imperial robes, he donated them all as dana. He recited the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra several times each month.
