神氣精靈。天姿秀異。德備文武。藝兼禮樂。珪璋社稷之器。廊廟柱石之才。實有王佐之風。咸稱靜亂之託。至於歸心服道。獨超名輩。不悋象馬。無愛珠璣。於定國寺興建寶塔。

His spiritual vapor was bright and sharp; his natural endowment was exceptional and extraordinary. His virtue was complete in civil and military affairs; his accomplishments encompassed ritual and music. An implement of jade for the altars of state, a pillar-stone talent for court and temple, he truly had the demeanor of an imperial counselor, and all called him one entrusted with pacifying chaos. As for turning his mind in submission to the Way, he uniquely surpassed his famous peers. He begrudged neither elephants nor horses, and had no greed for pearls or jade. At Dingguo Monastery, he erected a jeweled pagoda.
