文武兼施。忠孝備舉。生而念善常行慈恕。於大乘寺受戒發心。寫一切經。造丈六夾紵無量壽像。俸祿所致咸舉檀那。

Exercising both the civil and martial arts, he fulfilled both loyalty and filial piety. Born with a heart inclined toward goodness, he continually practiced loving-kindness and forbearance. At the Dacheng Temple he received the precepts and generated the resolve [for awakening], copied the entire canon of sūtras, and made a sixteen-foot dry-lacquer statue of Amitāyus. All that he obtained through his stipends and salary was offered as dāna.
