[He came from] a respectable family of the Three Commanderies and noble scion of the Five Tombs. His great source traced back to the Ji Waters, and his layered peaks rose majestically from Mount Qi. Generation after generation inherited the glory of carriages and caps; his clan upheld the rites of offering lambs and wild geese. Fufeng displayed his flourishing lineage, and Pingling spread his deep-seated roots. Though he dwelled amid worldly dust, his aspiration was fixed on the essential path of transcendence.
