文明皇太后之兄也。奉佛至信。於諸州建浮圖精舍。七十二所。寫一十六部一切經。常與名僧講論佛義。

He was the elder brother of Empress Dowager Wenming. He venerated the Buddha with supreme faith. In various prefectures he founded seventy-two Buddha-stūpas and vihāras. He copied sixteen sets of the complete canon of sūtras, and frequently discussed Buddhist principles with famous monks.
