邪見信心古來共有。善人惡黨今日寧無。前以傅子讇言略呈小論。既蒙上達復荷褒揚。戢在中心。但知慚德。昔三都賦未值張華。無人見賞破邪不逢君子。誰肯為珍。比者海內諸州四方道俗。流通抄寫讚詠成音。迴邪見之心。發愚人之善者。豈非明公之力也。必能利物薄有冥功。仰用莊嚴竝將迴向耳。請公為弘護檀越。

Wrong views and faithful mind have both existed since antiquity; how could there be an absence of good people and wicked cliques today? Previously, on account of Fu Yi's slanderous words, I briefly presented a minor treatise. Having received its presentation to the throne and furthermore met with your praise, it remains engraved in my heart, and I only feel ashamed of my virtue. In former times, had the 'Rhapsody on the Three Capitals' not encountered Zhang Hua, no one would have appreciated it; if the *Treatise on Refuting Errors* had not met a superior gentleman, who would have treasured it? Recently, throughout the prefectures within the seas and among the monastics and laity across the four quarters, it has circulated and been copied, praised and chanted until it has formed melodies. That it has turned around minds of wrong views and inspired goodness in foolish people—how could this not be the power of your illustrious Excellency? If it can truly benefit beings and possess slight unseen merit, I respectfully offer it for alaṃkāra and shall direct it in pariṇāmanā. I request that you, Duke, serve as the dānapati who broadly protects [the Dharma].
